Abstract
Universities and higher education institutions in Norway offer a variety of study programmes as a career path into teaching physical education. The authors explore which pedagogical pathways into teaching physical education are marketed on the websites of universities and higher education institutions, and how these institutions present information about education and study programmes. The material consists of digital empirical evidence from the websites of universities and higher education institutions. The information texts on the websites are placed as digital documents with authority in society. A review is conducted of subjects/study/educational areas, the education offered, and the relevance to working life is. Historically, there have been different ways to teach physical education. This article demonstrates the career paths into teaching physical education that currently exist. The findings indicate the strong position that voluntary sport has in society is also reflected in higher education.
